Caroline Bloor started working in photographic retail in the eighties, as joint owner/ manager of a film processing and photographic supplies centre. During this time she won several national awards for customer service and print quality, based on mystery shopper surveys.
Following the success of the business Caroline was commissioned by Kodak Ltd to prepare sales training seminars for retail managers across the UK and Ireland. She later went on to obtain a first class honours degree in Photography, Media and Society, and quickly followed this with a Masters in Photography at Surrey Institute of Art and Design.
Today Caroline combines her photographic practice with teaching digital photography skills to students with varying abilities. She has several teaching certificates, and is currently employed as a tutor by West Sussex Adult and Community Learning, The Open College of the Arts and The Institute of Professional Photography. Students have gone on to win major competitions, obtain places at University, and also to become professional photographers.

“I firmly believe that technical photographic knowledge has an important function to enhance the possibilities of creative practice, but should not be allowed to stem the flow of the imagination.” C B.
